Fiance Visa Lawyers in Arapahoe County, CO, Aiding You with Your Immigration Needs

Falling in love with someone from another country can be a beautiful experience. If you are a United States Citizen and your significant other is not, you may want to consider petitioning for a Fiancé Visa. This type of visa allows your partner to come to the United States for 90 days so that you can marry. After getting married, your new spouse can apply for a Green Card, which will allow them to live and work permanently in the United States.

The Fiancé Visa process can be long and complex. There are many forms that need to be filled out, and it is important that they are completed correctly. Our team at McGuire Law has experience helping people in Arapahoe County with their immigration needs, including Fiancé Visas. We will guide you through every step of the process to help ensure that everything is done correctly. Get in contact with our experienced family law immigration lawyers today at (720) 922-2988 to learn more about your options.

Who Is Eligible for a Fiancé Visa?

In order to petition for a Fiancé Visa, you must be a United States Citizen. You also need to prove that you have met your fiancé in person within the last two years. There are some exceptions to this rule, but they are rare. If you cannot meet the two-year requirement, you will need to explain why and provide evidence to support your claim.

You will also need to prove that you can financially support your fiancé(e) when they come to the United States. The Department of Homeland Security has set a minimum income requirement for petitioners. We can help you understand what you need to do to establish that you meet the requirements.

How Do I Start the Fiance Visa Process?

The first step in starting the fiance visa process is to ensure that you and your fiance meet the eligibility requirements. For example, you must be a U.S. citizen, and your fiance must be a foreign national who is not currently in the United States. If you both meet these requirements, you can then begin preparing the necessary documentation.

The next step is to file a petition with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This petition is known as an I-129F, and it must be filed by the U.S. citizen sponsor. Once the petition is approved, it will be forwarded to the consulate or embassy where your fiance is located.

Your fiance will then need to complete an interview at the consulate or embassy. During this interview, a consular officer will determine whether your relationship is genuine and whether your fiance is eligible for a visa. If the consular officer approves the visa, your fiance will be issued a K-1 visa. This visa allows them to travel to the United States for the purpose of getting married.

The fiance visa process can be complex, but it is possible to obtain a visa if you follow all of the necessary steps.

Why Should I Hire a Fiance Visa Attorney?

If you are engaged to be married to a foreign national, you may be considering applying for a fiance visa in order to bring your fiance to the United States. While it is possible to complete the application process without the help of an attorney, there are several good reasons why you should consider hiring an experienced fiance visa attorney.

The fiance visa application process is complicated, and it is important to make sure that all of the required information and documentation are included with your application. An experienced attorney will know what information and documentation are required and can help to ensure that your application is complete and accurate. This will improve your chances of having your application approved.
